FRSC RESTRICTS TRAILERS, TANKERS FROM PLYING LAGOS ROAD
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced that trailers, tankers and other articulated vehicles are restricted from moving on Lagos roads on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2019.
The Lagos State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Hyginus Omeje, said this following the decision reached at the end of the meeting of heads of security and traffic management agencies at the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force on January 29, 2019.
Omeje noted that Lagos State is playing host to 2019 Access Bank International Marathon scheduled to hold on February 1 and 2, 2019, saying why the decision should be complied with is that the road will be busier than usual.
“This decision is in the general interest of the motoring public and also targeted at ensuring free flow of traffic and forestall security breaches on the highways and other roads on the stated days,” he said.
Accordingly, a joint team of traffic and security agencies have been set up to ensure strict compliance with this directive and the affected motorists found wanting will be severely reprimanded.
