KWARA SPEAKER DECRIES THE SITUATION OF FUEL SCARCITY IN THE STATE
The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Mr. Yakubu Danladi, has decried the situation of fuel scarcity in four districts of the Baruten Local Government Area of the state.
During a courtesy visit to Compt. Mohammed Garba, the newly posted Border Drill Sector Coordinator, Sector 3, Ilorin, on Monday, he denounced how the uncomfortable task of getting easy access to fuel has tormented the citizens of the region.
He implored the Sector Coordinator to review the decision of fuel supply to the affected border communities, noting that a litre of petrol now costs about N300.
Mohammed Garba who was posted from Seme Area Command to Sector 3, Ilorin, stated that Nigeria Customs Service was just an implementer of Federal Government policies, urging the state government to channel their complaints through the appropriate quarters.
He also noted that there were countless of irregular migration and trans-border crimes, such as smuggling of small arms and light weapons, petroleum products, human trafficking, drug trafficking and terrorism, among others.
The custom official said that the above crimes must be tackled in Nigeria.
