NSCDC CONFINES 30,000 LITRES OF DEBASED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS IN ANAMBRA
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), said it has redeemed over 30,000 litres of diluted petroleum products in different parts of Anambra State.
Mrs Obiageli Obiagulu, the NSCDC State Commandant, disclosed this on Tuesday while parading two suspects at the Command’s headquarters in Awka, the state capital.
According to the State Commandant, the suspects were caught carrying 3,500 liters of adulterated petroleum products.
Obiagulu said that at the time of the arrest, the suspects were four, but investigations revealed that two out of the four were given a ride by the driver.
She stated that the names of the two suspects are Ifeanyi Chukwu and Ali Okwudilichukwu, the driver and the conductor respectively, adding that the two other persons had been permitted bail.
The commandant recounted that the suspects were apprehended with J5 Peugeot car with Reg. No, Kano: TRN 44XQ at Ihiala Area of the state after a tip off.
She said that the command also impounded a truck with registration number Anambra:ATN996ZK at Uga, Aguata area with 25,000 liters of suspected debased petroleum products, noting that the suspects escaped on sighting NSCDC officials.
Obiagulu further said that the command equally seized a truck with registration number Abuja:BUR748AX carrying 1,655 litres of adulterated petroleum product on March 21.
She commended the Anambra State Government for its support to the corps and advised criminals to leave the state in their own best interest.
