PENGASSAN URGES KYARI TO TACKLE FUEL SUBSIDY, CRUDE OIL THEFT, AMONG OTHERS
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), has asked the new Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Mele Kyari, to urgently address the problems challenging the oil and gas industry.
The oil workers identified the problems to be pipeline vandalism, crude oil theft, inadequate infrastructure, pricing uncertainties and the controversial fuel subsidy issues among others.
PENGASSAN, in a congratulatory message, signed by its General Secretary, Lumumba Okugbawa, described Kyari’s appointment as well-deserved and a testament to his hard work, dedication to duty and exemplary leadership quality and service to the NNPC.
The workers also applauded the out-going GMD, Dr Maikanti Baru, for his contributions to the growth of the industry, noting that history will remember him for his good works.
PENGASSAN also recounted its collaboration with Baru as heroic, for which they will forever remain grateful, and wished him the best of luck in his future aspirations.
