TANKER EXPLOSION KILLS TWO ON LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY
Two persons have been confirmed dead in an explosion involving multiple tankers at Kara bridge along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The fire which occurred in the wee hours of Sunday involved two petroleum laden tankers, one gas tanker and an articulated truck.
The Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Olufemi Ogungbemide, who confirmed the incident said it might have happened due to lose of control on the part of the drivers.
He also said that rescue operations have found two dead bodies so far and two casualties have been moved to the General Hospital Gbagada, adding that one was burnt beyond recognition.
The Director General of the Lagos State Emergency Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke- Osanyintolu, said the fire had been put out.
