IPMAN: Don't Make New Payment For Petrol
By Adedayo Osho, Abuja

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has urged independent marketers not to make new payment for the purchase of petroleum motor spirit, otherwise known as PMS.

IPMAN Chairman of Western Zone, Alhaji Dele Tajudeen, who issued the directive in the early morning of Monday, 6th of February, 2023, advised marketers interested in purchasing the product to make such payment only directly through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

While allaying the fears of fellow marketers from humiliation, harassment, Tajudeen assured "Leadership of the Association is engaging with relevant authorities on the issue." He encouraged that "Members should feel free to report negative incidents to their Unit Executives" in the eventuality of one or more.

A meeting between ranking management officials of NNPC and relevant agencies in Nigeria's downstream subsector on Tuesday, 31st of January, 2023, slated the enforcement on compliance by filling stations on the sale of PMS at 195 naira per litre, for February 6, 2023.
